This is a vintage c. 1949 18K rose gold Patek Philippe Calatrava 96R. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18K rose gold tang buckle, and a domed acrylic crystal. The 30.5mm diameter solid three-body case, stepped bezel, and downturned lugs are polished/brushed. There is a snap-on solid case back, and a pull-out winding crown. The dial is silver with applied rose gold faceted "boat" baton hour index markers, an outer dot minute track, and rose gold dauphine hands. There is a subsidiary running seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The 8.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe Calatrava 96R has a mechanical manual-winding Patek Philippe caliber 120 movement that's rhodium-plated, with fausses côtes embellishment. It It's constructed with 18 jewels, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a straight-line lever escapement, a cut bimetallic compensation balance, a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and a swan-neck micrometer regulator. Production of the Patek Philippe Calatrava 96R began in 1932.
