More about Stratoliner Chronograph SS White Dial / Black Leather

This is a stainless steel Fortis Stratoliner Chronograph, 665.10.12 M. The three body, solid, polished and brushed case and curved lugs has a fixed black bezel with a tachymeter and a 60-minute scale. The chronograph pushbuttons are round with a screwed down crown that includes the Fortis logo. The sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating on both sides, and the sapphire display case back is screwed down as well. The dial is white with black subsidiary dials, including a 30-minute indicator at 12 o'clock, and a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock. A small seconds dial is at 9 o'clock, along with an aperture for the day, while a date window is at 3, along with an arrow that indicates the direction for rotating the crown for a quick adjustment. There are white superluminova skeleton hour and minute hands, and a white tipped chronograph hand. Arabic numeral hour markers are at 10, 2, 4, and 8 o'clock, with black baton hour indexes. It's water resistant to 200 meters, and the leather strap has a stainless steel tang buckle. The automatic winding calibre 7750 movement is constructed with 25 jewels and an incabloc shock absorber mechanism. It has a fine timing device and the movement oscillates at 28,800 vph. The case, dial, and movement are all signed. Fortis has made precision watches for pilots since 1912, and later in the 20th century it became a favored chronograph of cosmonauts and astronauts.
