More about Combat Chronograph SS / Black Dial

This is a stainless steel Glycine Combat Chronograph, 3924-19AT-LB9. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle. The solid, 43mm diameter three-body case is polished and brushed, with a screwed down protected crown, a screwed down display sapphire case back, luminous white baton hands, and a sapphire crystal. The black dial has rose gold tone radial Arabic numeral hour markers and a rectangular date aperture at 3 o'clock, with round chronograph pushbuttons at 2 and 4 o'clock. There is an outer second/minute track, A Subsidiary 12-hour dial with white luminous numbers is at the 6 o'clock position, and a 30-minute register is at 12. A small seconds dial is at 9 o'clock. It's water resistant to 100 meters, and it has a 48-hour power reserve. The 10mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The self-winding, automatic Glycine caliber GL293 Swiss movement is rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 25 jewels and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. There is a ruthenium coated oscillating weight on ball bearings, and the mechanism oscillates at 28'800 vph. (4 Hz). This is a classic Glycine design from the 1960's. It was originally reflective of the World War II field watches, although it's an iconic, perennial watch fashion.
