More about Memovox 18K Rose Manual Wind Display Back

This is an 18K rose gold Jaeger Lecoultre Memovox, 144.24.70. It has a leather strap with an 18K rose gold deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 36mm diameter solid two-body case, curved lugs, and flat angled bezel are polished, with the alarm winding crown at the two o'clock position, and the time-setting crown at 4. The dial is black with applied rose gold dart hour index markers, Tritium-coated pink gold "dauphine" hands, and a center sweep second hand. It has an inner revolving disc for indicating the bell-chime alarm time, and an outer track with luminous hour markers and minute/second divisions. It has a transparent display sapphire case back secured with 4 screws. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 11.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manual winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 914 movement is rhodium-plated, with "fausses côtes" embellishment, and a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to heat, cold, and 5 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance-spring. In 1959 Jaeger LeCoultre produced the first Memovox, a diving watch with an alarm that warned the diver to begin an ascent to the surface. This is a very rare Memovox, certified with the 1000-hour series of tests that are the benchmark for the company's modern watches.
