This is an 18K yellow gold Seiko Credor Spring Drive, Caliber 7R88 A. It has a strap with a matching 18K yellow gold deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a screwed down exhibition sapphire crystal display case back secured by 4 screws. The 38mm diameter solid two-body case, rounded bezel, and downturned lugs are polished. The dial is silver, with several textures, with applied faceted baton hour index markers, bright blue hands, a center sweep second hand, an outer dot minute track, and the Credor logo in gold at 12 o'clock. The winding crown is protected, and there is a 72-hour power reserve with the indicator sector at the 10:30 position. There is rectangular date aperture window at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 300 meters/1000 feet, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The Seiko mechanical hand-wound caliber 7R88a movement is hand finished and assembled, containing 30 jewels, with an accuracy of +/- 15 seconds a month. Rather than the conventional back and fourth movement of a mechanical escapement, the patented Spring Drive provides a continuous circular motion that produces the accuracy of a quartz watch. Instead of the traditional beats per time unit as seen in quartz or mechanical watches, this is the only commercially available wristwatch technology that's capable of truly creating a continuous movement of the second hand. It utilizes a mainspring, a barrel, an automatic winder, and stem winding to store energy, like any mechanical watch. A "Try-synchro Regulator" regulates the mainspring, controlling all three forms of energy used to produce power to the mainspring, transfer the electrical power from the mechanical energy, and manage the electromagnetic energy that controls the rotation of the glide wheel. The glide wheel powers a control circuit and quartz crystal oscillator that has a frequency of 32,768 vph, which regulates the electro-mechanical braking of the wheel. The name Credor comes from the French Créte d'Or, meaning ‘’the ultimate of the gold,’’ Yoshikazu Akahane of Seiko invented the Spring Drive in 1977.
