More about Vintage Multi-Centerchrono Circa 1940s SS Rose Gold Bezel
This is a vintage c. 1940's stainless steel Mido Vintage Multi-Centerchrono, Caliber 1300. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a plexiglass crystal. It has a screw-down solid case back and an inner anti-magnetic dust cover. The 34.5mm diameter solid two-body stainless steel case, rounded 18K rose gold bezel, and downturned lugs are polished/brushed. It has the original silver dial, applied steel Arabic numeral hour markers, evenly aged hands, a red center sweep chronograph hand, a blued telemeter hand, and the original round chronograph pushbuttons. There is a golden 60-minute/second inner track with Arabic numerals every five minutes, and an outer telemeter kilometer scale. The 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual-winding Mido caliber 1300 movement has copper colored components. It's a unique Valjoux VZ variant with both the sweep-second and minute-counter chronograph hands on a central pinion. It has a column wheel chronograph, a center minute chronograph counter, and a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to temperature and 6 positions, a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator. The caliber 1300 movement on this Mido Multi-Centerchrono is based on the Valjoux VZ caliber, which was used for some of the finest hand-wind time only movements ever produced, including watches by Audemars Piquet and Patek Philippe.
