More about Patek Philippe 5396G-001 Annual Calendar Sector Dial 18K White Gold

This is an 18K white gold Patek Philippe Calatrava Annual Calendar 5396G-001. It has a leather strap with an 18k white gold deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal. There is a snap-on case back with an exhibition sapphire crystal. The 38mm diameter solid three body case, downturned lugs, and sloped flat bezel are all polished. The dial is silver with applied white gold baton hour index markers, a dot outer minute track, and feuille hands with a sweep seconds hand. It has a subsidiary 24-hour dial and square windows for the day and month, with a third aperture at 6 o'clock for the date underneath the moon phase dial. It's water resistant and the 11.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

The Patek Philippe automatic Calibre 324 S QA LU 24H movement is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment, and the stamp of the Patek Philippe seal. It's constructed with 34 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and the patented Gyromax balance that adjusts for cold, heat, isochronism, and for five positions. It has a shock absorber, a 21K gold rotor, and a self-compensating flat balance spring.

Patek Philippe designed this case after its famous Calatrava reference 96 from 1932. This model was first produced in 2006. The new annual calendar mechanism actually compensates for the various lengths of each month from March 1 to the end of February, necessitating only one adjustment a year. The Calatrava line continues - timeless with its round case, polished bezel, and distinctive style.
