This is an extremely rare vintage c. 1944 stainless steel Omega 30T2 Suveran 2400-6. It has a shell cordovan leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. There is a pull out winding crown, and a snap-on solid case back engraved with "OMEGA – SUVERAN." The inside anti-magnetic iron engine-turned case is engraved "ACIER INOXYDABLE – FAB SUISSE – 2400-6," with the triangular Omega Watch Co. stamp. The 35mm diameter solid three-body case, curved screwed lugs, and angled bezel are satin/polished. The two-tone military-style dial is silver with luminous Arabic numeral hour markers around a plain reserve. It has dauphine steel hands with luminous inserts, and there is a perimeter minute scale. A recessed silver running seconds subsidiary dial is at the 6 o'clock position. The 11mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Omega 30T2 Suveran 2400-6 mechanical manual winding Omega caliber 30T2 movement is copper-color. It's constructed with 15 jewels, an Incabloc shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a cut bimetallic compensation balance, a blued steel Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator. The Omega 30T2 Suveran 2400-6 was originally made on demand by the Swedish government in the early 1940’s. It was produced by Omega to be sold in Sweden. Suveran means "sovereign," as Sweden remained sovereign during WWII. The Swedish government sold this watch to the Swedish public during the war to in order to finance the armed forces as an alternative to war bonds.
