More about Vintage Datejust Black Dial SS / 18K Rose Gold

This is a vintage 1972 stainless steel/18k rose gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 1601. It has an integral 18k yellow gold and stainless steel jubilee link bracelet with a double folding deployment clasp, and an acrylic crystal. There is a screw-down solid case back, and a screw-down winding crown. The 35.2mm diameter solid three-body case, integral downturned lugs, and fluted 18k yellow gold bezel are polished/brushed. The original dial is black with luminous applied faceted baton hour markers with dot hour indices, yellow gold baton hands with luminous inserts, and a center sweep seconds hand. There is an outer minute/second track around the perimeter, and it has a date aperture window underneath a Cyclops magnification bubble in the crystal at the 3 o'clock position. It's a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC). It's water resistant and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 1601 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 1570 movement that's rhodium-plated with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 26 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, and Microstella regulating screws.
