It has a pull out winding crown, and an exhibition sapphire display case back engraved around the perimeter with "SPECIAL EDITION TANGENTE FOR DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and the edition number out of 1000 examples. The 38mm diameter solid two-body case, "dog leg" lugs with screwed bars, and flat bezel are polished. The dial is galvanized white silver plated, with black Arabic numeral hour markers at 2, 4, 8, 10, black baton indices, black oxidized steel baton hands, and the red 12 that alludes to the cooperation with the Nobel Prize winning organization, "Doctors Without Borders," which is inscribed underneath the 6 o'clock position. There is a minute scale around the perimeter, and a recessed silver guilloche subsidiary small running seconds register is at 6 o'clock. It has a 42-hour power reserve at full wind, and it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet. The 7mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Nomos Tangente 38 for Doctors Without Borders 164.S2 has a mechanical manual winding Nomos caliber Alpha movement. It's Glashutte three-quarter plate, rhodium plated, with cotes de Geneve embellishment. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a stop seconds mechanism, a straight-line lever escapement, and a Triovis fine adjustment regulator. The Nomos Tangente 38 for Doctors Without Borders 164.S2 was introduced in 2013 in a limited edition of 1000 pieces for the United States. $100 of each Nomos sale was given to humanitarian aid.
