This is a vintage c. 1968 stainless steel Breitling Unitime 1765 AVI. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. It has round chronograph push buttons and a screw-down winding crown. There is a solid screw-down case back engraved with "BREITLING – 1765 UNITIME – ANTIMAGNETIC – STAINLESS STEEL – WATERPROOF – SHOCKPROTECTED." It has an aluminum bi-directional rotating black 24-hour bezel, and the 40mm diameter solid three-body case, and downturned lapidated lugs are polished/brushed. The original revers panda dial is black with recessed silver subsidiary dials, luminous 24-hour Arabic numeral hour markers and luminous baton indices. It has steel baton hands with luminous inserts, a luminous center sweep seconds hand with an arrow tip, and there is a perimeter minute/one-fifth seconds scale. The three subsidiary dials include a running seconds register at the 9 o'clock position, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute totalizer at 3 o'clock with a yellow luminous hand. The 13.3mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Breitling Unitime 1765 AVI has a mechanical manually wound Venus Caliber 178 movement. It has copper coating and rhodium plating. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic antimagnetic balance, a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and a micrometer regulator. This Breitling Unitime 1765 AVI variant was introduced in 1968, with approximately 800 examples produced, a number based on the serial numbers.
