More about Vintage Aquatimer Automatic SS / SS RARE BRACELET

This is a vintage stainless steel IWC Aquatimer Automatic, 812 AD. It has an integral Gay Freres beads of rice stainless steel bracelet, and an acrylic crystal. There is a solid screw-down case back with the submarine engraving, and a second winding crown at the 2 o'clock position adjusts the revolving inner bezel ring for the decompression times. There is a date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position. The 37mm diameter solid two-body case, straight lugs, and faceted bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is black with applied tritium baton hour markers, a sweep seconds hand, and an outer minute/second track. It has tritium-coated steel baton hands. It was originally rated for a water resistance a 200 meters/660 feet. The 13.2mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber 8541 movement is rhodium plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, and a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a Pellaton winding movement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted for heat, cold, and 5 positions, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring.
