More about Master Geographic SS 39MM UNWORN

This is a stainless steel Jaeger LeCoultre Master Geographic, 142.84.21. It has an alligator leather strap with a stainless steel deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal. There is a screw-down exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 4 screws. The 39mm diameter solid case, angled bezel, downturned lugs, and case back are polished. The dial is silver with luminescent alpha hands, a blue center sweep seconds hand, applied dart baton hour markers, luminescent dot indexes, and an Arabic 12. There is an outer track with minute index markers, and a 12-hour subsidiary dial at 6 o'clock. Also between 7 and 5 o'clock is the arched aperture window that has 24 major world cities and time zones that can be adjusted with the crown at the 10 o'clock position. There is a small AM/PM indicator to the left of the 12-hour 2nd time zone sub-dial, a 43-hour power reserve indicator between 9 and 11 o'clock, and a date sub dial at three o'clock. All the sub dial complications have blued hands. Like all Jaeger-LeCoultre watches, it has passed their 1000-hour control tests. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and the 11.77mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 939 movement is rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment, and a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 34 jewels, 310 components, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a hacking seconds, and the rotor oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Master Geographic is famous for it's excellent readability of the second time zone at a glance. The indication of multiple time zones represents the entire world on the wrist, even taking summer into account.
