This is a stainless steel Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Chronograph 175.84.70. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel JLC deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The round chronograph push buttons and winding crown have a patented compression key system with butterfly collars that turn a ½ revolution clockwise and counter clockwise, with red and white arrows; the white arrow means the crown is secured and water tight as it compresses a gasket that locks it in, and the red arrow indicates the crown is unsecured. There is a solid case back secured with 4 screws, with a gold center medallion with the JLC world logo, and the high relief engraved words "MASTER COMPRESSOR – 1000 HOURS." Around the polished perimeter is engraved "CHRONOGRAPH - JAEGER-LECOULTRE - 10 ATM," and serial and case numbers. The 41.5mm diameter solid three-body case, curved lugs, and angled flat bezel are polished. The dial is black with polished steel alpha hands with luminous inserts, luminous dart hour markers and luminous Arabic numerals at 9 and 12 o'clock, an outer white minute/one-fifth second scale with luminous red-rimmed dots, and a luminous white center sweep chronograph hand. Around the perimeter is a tachymeter graduation to 400 UPH. There is a date aperture window at the 6 o'clock position, and it has a 12-hour register subsidiary dial with the underlying white disc rotating instead of a hand at 9 o'clock. It has a black 30-minute subsidiary chronograph totalizer at 3 o'clock with white luminous numerals and a red 30, and at 6 o'clock in the middle of the dial is a running seconds arc with a white 60. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and there is a 72-hour power reserve at full wind. The 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Chronograph 175.84.70 has a mechanical automatic self-winding JLC caliber 751 movement. It's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 41 jewels, 272 components, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz).
