This is a vintage c. 1958 stainless steel Omega Ranchero 2990-1. It has a stainless steel Omega 1036 bracelet and an acrylic crystal. There is a solid snap-on case back, engraved "waterproof." The 36mm diameter solid two-body case, downturned lugs, and stepped bezel are polished/brushed. The original rare black dial has luminous black-tipped aged yellow dart hour indices, black Arabic numeral hour markers at 3, 9, and 12 o'clock, and aged luminous steel broad arrow hands. There is a minute scale around the perimeter, and a subsidiary constant seconds dial is at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant, and the 9.7mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding Omega caliber 267 movement is copper-colored, with "OMEGA - 17 jewels," and the caliber and serial numbers. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a shock absorber device, and a monometallic balance. It has a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator. The Omega Ranchero, reference 2990-1, was Introduced in 1958, and was in production for c. 2 years. The black dial models are extremely rare.
