More about Luminor Flyback Chronograph 1950 SS

This is a stainless steel Panerai Luminor Flyback Chronograph 1950 PAM212. It has an alligator leather strap with a stainless steel deployment buckle, and a high-cambered domed scatch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coatings. It has round chronograph push buttons, and the patented fully protected winding crown with lever release for winding underwater. There is a screw-down exhibition sapphire display case back engraved with "OFFICINE PANERA – 200 M – STAINLESS STEEL – AUTOMATIC – OP 6640," a serial number, and an edition number. The 45mm diameter cushion-shaped solid three-body case, straight lugs, and angled bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminous baton indices and Arabic numeral hour makers at 6 and 12 o'clock. It has luminous baton hands, a center sweep chronograph hand with an oval indicator, and there is an outer minute/second scale. Around the angled perimeter is a tachymeter ring to 400 uph. There are two subsidiary dials including a running small seconds register at 9 o'clock, and a 30-minute chronograph totalizer at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and it has a 42-hour power reserve at full wind. It has a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, and the 18.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Luminor Flyback Chronograph 1950 PAM212 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Panerai caliber OPXIX (base ETA/Valjoux 7750) movement. It's rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 30 jewels, blued screws, an Incabloc shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a Glucydor monometallic balance, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Luminor Flyback Chronograph 1950 PAM212 was introduced in 2005 in an edition of 900 examples, and it was produced until 2008.
