This is an 18K rose gold IWC Portuguese FA Jones, reference IW544201. It has an alligator leather strap with a rose gold tang buckle, and a scratch-resistant glare-proofed sapphire crystal. There is a screw-down exhibition sapphire case back secured by 6 screws. The 43mm diameter solid two-body case, downturned lugs, and rounded bezel are polished. The dial is white enamel with painted gold Arabic numeral hour markers, gold Breguet hands, an outer minute track, and there is a small seconds subsidiary dial at the 6 o'clock position. It has a power reserve of 46 hours at full wind, and it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet. The 11.7mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding IWC caliber 98290 movement is rhodium-plated, with "oeil-de-perdrix" and hand-engraved embellishment. It's constructed with18 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph. This IWC Portuguese F.A. Jones, reference IW544201, debuted in 2005, in a limited edition of 1000 examples. It honors the founder of IWC, Bostonian Florentine Ariosto Jones, who started the company in Schaffhausen in 1868.
