This is an 18K yellow gold A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Time Zone 116.021. It displays the time for anyplace in the world, as well as the local home time. The case is 11.0mm thin, with a large 41.9 mm, contemporary diameter. The champagne dial has 18K gold applied Roman numerals, index markers, and luminous insert alpha hands. The offset hour dial indicates the local time while two smaller inset subdials at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock keep 24-hour diurnal and nocturnal time as well as small seconds. The patented, oversize dual-window date display is at the top right of the dial at 1 o'clock and a quick date-correction push-bar is on the case edge at 10 o'clock. The up-down power reserve indicator is at 3 o'clock. The world time subdial is located at the bottom right sector of the watch and can be easily adjusted using a quick-set push-bar on the side of the case at 8 o'clock that rotates the outer city ring, advancing the time in 1-hour increments. The impressively complex caliber L031.1 movement contains 54 jewels, 417 parts, twin mainspring barrels that vibrate at 21,600 beats per hour, and a 72-hour power reserve. There is a transparent sapphire crystal caseback and a fixed bezel. The crocodile leather strap has an 18K gold tang buckle clasp. Since 1845 Lange has been the first and most innovative German watchmaker, and this manual-wind timepiece is a contemporary masterwork with old-world craftsmanship. This world time zone watch is a recent addition to the prestigious Lang 1 series, which was great grandson Walter Lange's first new offering after restoring the company after the cold war in 1990.
