More about Gondolo White Dial Arabic Numerals YG

This is an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe Gondolo, 5014J-015. It has a leather strap with a matching yellow gold buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The solid case back is secured with four screws. The 27mm x 35mm two-body solid tonneau case, stepped art-deco bezel, and integral lugs are polished; the white dial has black painted Arabic numerals, black gold "bowtie" hands, and a railway-style outer minute track. The subsidiary seconds dial is at 6 o'clock, it's water resistant to 25 meters/90 feet, and the 9mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manual winding calibre 215 movement is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment and the Patek Philippe seal. It's built with 18 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, and the patented Patek Philippe Gyromac balance that adjusts for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. Patek Philippe launched the distinctive, art deco-inspired Gondolo line in 1993. The collection was a contemporary re-examination of the stepped, stylistic lines of the 1920’s art deco movement. The line is named for the “Chronometro Gondolo” pocket watches created by Patek for the Brazilian Gondolo & Labouriau jewelers in Rio de Janeiro in 1902.
