More about Langematik Big Date 18K Yellow Gold

This legendary A. Lange & Sohne Langematik Big Date, reference 308.021 30821, is a modern classic from the finest and earliest German precision watchmakers. The double-framed aperture for the oversized date is one of the signatures of this timepiece. Released in 2000, the patented Sax-O-Mat automatic winding movement is easily one of the finest in the world. It's stunning in 18K yellow gold with the creamy silver dial, applied 18K yellow gold baton index markers, and luminous yellow gold alpha hands. The push bar on the band of the case at 10'clock adjusts the date. By pulling out the winding crown the brilliant Lange zero-reset mechanism causes the seconds hand to jump to the zero position for setting the exact time. The three-piece 18k yellow gold body is polished and the caseback is a display sapphire crystal for viewing the caliber L921.4 movement. It has the Glashütte German silver ¾ plate, fausses cotes decoration, and 45 jewels for turning a host of complication precision gears and wheels. There is a monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, a straight line lever escapement, the patented Lange self-compensating flat balance spring, and a swan neck micrometer regulator. The balance bridge is hand-engraved and there is a 21K gold microrotor with a platinum segment. There is a 46-hour power reserve and the case is water resistant to 30 meters. The leather strap has a 18k yellow gold Lange buckle, and the movement, dial, and case are signed.
