More about Navitimer Fighters Automatic Chronograph SS

This is a stainless steel Breitling Navitimer Fighters A13330. It has an integral stainless steel jubilee-style link bracelet with a double folding deployment clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coatings. There is a pull out winding crown, with round chronograph push buttons, and it has a solid screw down case back engraved with "CHRONOGRAPHE CERTIFIE CHRONOMETRE ETANCHE 30M," a serial number, and around the perimeter are depictions of six of the most prominent fighter aircraft of World War II, including the P-51 Mustang, the Curtiss P-40, the Yakovlek, the Messerschmitt, the Corsair, and the Mustang. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, gently curved lugs, bracelet, and knurled cupped bi-directional rotating bezel, are polished/brushed. The silver bezel has a “navigator computer,” a circular slide rule that performs the calculations for a flight plan. The dial is a reverse panda black with recessed silver subsidiary dials with black markers and Arabic numerals around a black minute/one-fifth second scale. There is a 30-minute chronograph totalizer at 12 o'clock, a running small seconds register at 9 o'clock, and a 12-hour totalizer is at the 6 o'clock position. It has applied luminous steel baton hour indices, luminous steel baton hands with needle tips, a center sweep chronograph hand with a red arrow pointer and a Breitling logo counter balance, and there is a date aperture window at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a 42-hour power reserve at full wind, and the 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Breitling Navitimer Fighters A13330 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Breitling caliber 13 (base ETA/VAljoux 7750) movement. It's rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's constructed with 25 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a micrometer regulator. It has a hacking seconds device for precision time setting, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Breitling Navitimer Fighters A13330 was introduced in a limited edition in 2001-2004, commemorating their iconic 1952 Navitimer chronograph that became the official watch of the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association). It's the world's oldest chronograph of continuous production.
