The watch was bought from the original owner who purchased the watch at the Vacheron boutique in London.

This is an early-1950s 18K rose gold Vacheron Constantin Vintage Manual Wind. The calatrava case is oversized for its era with "claw" lugs. It has an alligator leather strap with a matching 18K rose gold tang buckle. It has a snap-on case back. The guilloche dial has a "sunkissed" tint with gold applied hour markers, Arabic, round and dart-shaped indexes, gold baton hands, and an applied Maltese cross. The manual winding rhodium-plated brass Vacheron Caliber P454/5B full bridge movement has Cotes de Geneve decoration. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a cut bimetallic balance adjusted for temperature, a swan neck index regulator, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring. For their "Collectionneurs" line, Vacheron purchases historic vintage pieces from private collectors at auction, takes them back to their factory in Geneva, refurbishes them mechanically, rectifies any cosmetic issues, and researches what year the watch was produced.
