This is a vintage c. 1960s stainless steel Breitling Navitimer 806. It has a domed acrylic crystal, and round chronograph push-buttons. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, revolving reeded slide rule bezel, lapidated downturned lugs are gold plated stainless steel. The case back is stainless steel and shows the Breitling logo and the reference number. The dial is black with luminous Arabic numerals, gilt hands, and gilt text & scales. It has luminous Tritium baton hands, a straight central chronograph hand, and outer graduations for the minutes, the tachymeter, the telemeter, and the slide-rule. There is a constant seconds subsidiary dial at the 9 o'clock position, a 12-hour sub dial at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute dial at 3 o'clock. The 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Breitling Navitimer 806 has a mechanical manual winding Breitling caliber 178 movement that's copper-finished, with a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that's adjusted to temperature and 5 positions. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring.
