This is a vintage c. 1978 18K yellow gold Rolex GMT Master Oyster Perpetual Date, 1675. It has an integral 18K yellow gold Jubilee bracelet with a double deployant clasp, a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops magnification bubble over the date aperture window at 3 o'clock. It has an 18K yellow gold bi-directional rotating 24-hour GMT bezel and a protected screwed-down crown. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, integral lugs, knurled bezel rim, and bracelet are polished/brushed. It has a rare burgundy dial with luminous "nipple" dot, baton, and triangular hour markers, and luminous skeleton Mercedes hands, all with aged Tritium lume. There is a central GMT hand with a luminous arrow tip for the second time zone, a center sweep seconds hand, and an outer minute/second division track. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 1575 movement is rhodium-plated, with a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 27 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a free-sprung monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. It includes a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and Microstella regulating screws.
