This is a platinum Patek Philippe Grand Complication Perpetual Calendar, reference 5140P-001. It has an alligator leather strap with a platinum deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has Interchangeable solid case back and an exhibition sapphire display case back. The 37.2mm diameter solid two-body case, downturned lugs, and stepped bezel are polished. The dial is blue with applied white gold faceted pointed baton hour index markers, white gold Dauphine hands, and a dot minute track around the perimeter. There is a subsidiary dial with the days of the week combined with a 24-hour register at 9 o'clock, and the month with the leap year is at 3. A moon phase indicator and date dial are at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and it has a 48-hour power reserve at full wind. The "ultra-thin" 8.5mm case, dial, and movement are all signed. The self-winding caliber 240Q movement is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 27 jewels, 275 components, and it's stamped with the Patek Philippe and quality Geneva seals. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a shock absorber device, and a 22K gold off-center micro-rotor. It has a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a patented Patek Philippe Gyromax balance that adjusts for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. This Patek Philippe Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar, reference 5140P-001, was introduced in 2006. Patek Philippe made the first perpetual calendar wristwatch in 1925.
