More about Jumbo Nautilus Moonphase Power Reserve SS

This is a stainless steel Patek Philippe Nautilus Power Reserve Moon phase 5712/1A. It has an integral stinless steel bracelet, a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and an exhibition sapphire crystal display case back. It has a protected, screwed down crown, and the 43mm by 38mm solid two-body case, wide cushion shaped bezel, and downturned lugs are polished/brushed. The dial is Anthracite grey with horizontal textured stripes, applied luminous steel faceted baton hands, and luminous outer dot minute divisions. There is a subsidiary dial for the constant seconds at the 4 o'clock position, an integrated analog date and moon phase are at 7 o'clock, and the arched 48-hour power-reserve sector indicator is between 10 and 11 o'clock. It's water resistant to 60 meters, and the 9.2mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe Nautilus Power Reserve Moon phase 5712/1A has a mechanical automatic self-winding Patek Philippe calibre 240/164 movement that's rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's stamped with the Patek Philippe seal. It's constructed with 31 jewels, 265 parts, a shock absorber mechanism, a straight-line lever escapement, and the patented Patek Philippe Gyromax balance that compensates for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. It has a self-compensating free sprung flat balance spring, and a 22K gold off-center micro-rotor. The mechanism oscillates at 21, 600 vph (3 Hz). The 9mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. Patek Philippe introduced the Nautilus watches in 1976, along with the first incarnation of the calibre 240 automatic movement. Their first Nautilus wasn't produced until the company was certain that they could introduce a sports watch with a distinctive design that couldn't be copied. It was patented in 1979. The case is sealed like a porthole, with a special O-ring gasket pressed against an angle in the case band.
