More about Seamaster Planet Ocean Co-Axial Black Dial SS / SS
This is a stainless steel Omega Seamaster Co-Axial Planet Ocean 215.30.40.20.03.001. It has an integral stainless steel link bracelet with a double folding deployment clasp, and a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. There is a screw-down winding crown with a crown guard, and a helium gas escape valve at 10 o'clock on the left side case band. There is a screw-down exhibition sapphire display case back, engraved on the perimeter with "PLANET OCEAN – 600m-2000ft." The unidirectional rotating blue "liquid metal" bezel has a 60-minute graduated time scale with Arabic numerals every ten minutes from 20 to 50, and a luminous dot/triangle at the 60-minute position. The glossy ceramic dial is blue, with applied Arabic numeral hour markers at 6, 9, and 12, and luminous applied steel baton indices around a perimeter minute/seconds scale. It has luminous broad arrow hands, and a center sweep seconds hand with an arrow indicator and an orange needle tip. It's resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss, and there is a date aperture window at 3 o'clock. It has a 60-hour power reserve at full wind, and it's water resistant to 600 meters/2000 feet. The 16mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Omega Seamaster Co-Axial Planet Ocean 215.30.40.20.03.001 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Omega Caliber 8800 co-axial escapement movement. To qualify for Master Chronometer status, it has passed the 8 rigorous tests required by METAS (The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology). It's rhodium plated with Geneva waves in arabesque, and it's constructed with 39 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a free-sprung monometallic balance with a silicon balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 25,200 vph (3.5Hz). This Omega Seamaster Co-Axial Planet Ocean 215.30.40.20.03.001 is the third generation, and it was introduced at BaselWorld in 2016.
