Vintage Tudor Home Plate Chronograph 7031/0 circa 1971, stainless steel on a stainless steel folded link 7836 Rolex Oyster bracelet with 282 end links and a stainless steel deployant clasp stamped 4/70, manual wind Valjoux 7734 movement, grey dial with black subdials and orange accents, date with cyclops at 6 o'clock, chronograph, screw-down "700 Series" Oyster crown (which was only fitted to the earliest batches) and pushers, acrylic crystal, fixed external bakelite tachymeter bezel, lume on the original dial and hands has faded to a beautiful cream color, 756XXX serial number (circa 1971), diameter: 40mm, thickness: 13mm. Outstanding Collector Condition with original Tudor box, warranty papers dated July 1971, and original sales receipt. This watch was just completely serviced.

This is a vintage c. 1971 stainless steel Tudor Home Plate Chronograph 7031/0. It has an integral stainless steel folded link 7836 Rolex Oyster bracelet with 282 end links, a stainless steel deployant clasp with a date stamp of 4/70, and an acrylic crystal. It has a solid screw-down case back engraved with "Original Oyster Case by Rolex Geneva," and a "700 Series" screw-down Oyster winding crown protected by a crown guard. These "700 Series" crowns were only fitted to the earliest batches of this model produced. It has screw-down chronograph pushbuttons and a fixed bakelite bezel with a tachymeter scale to 500 UPH. The dial is grey with twin black subsidiary dials with orange accents, including a constant seconds register at 9 o'clock, and a 45-minute chronograph dial at the 3 o'clock position. There is an outer 1/5th seconds scale with 5 minute/second orange Arabic markers. It has an aperture window for the date underneath a Cyclops magnification bubble at 6 o'clock. It has Luminous steel baton hands, and an orange chronograph hand. The 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Tudor Home Plate Chronograph 7031/0 has a mechanical manual winding Valjoux 7734 chronograph movement. It's rhodium-plated, and it's constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Tudor Home Plate Chronograph 7031/0 was introduced in the 1970's. Along with the 7032, the 7031 Home Plate Chronograph was the very first chronograph model that Tudor produced. Introduced in 1970, this particular example dates to the early period of the model's production run.
