This is an AISI 316L stainless steel Panerai Luminor 1950, reference PAM00523. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-glare coatings. There is a screw-down exhibition sapphire display case back engraved with "Officine Panerai – stainless steel," and the edition number. It has the patented winding crown accessible with a lever that can be adjusted underwater. The 42mm diameter cushion-shaped solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and angled bezel are polished. The dial is white with luminescent baton hands, black Arabic numeral hour markers and luminescent dots, and a perimeter minute track. There is a date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position, and a subsidiary constant seconds dial is at 3 o'clock. The time is adjusted so the hour hand advances in jumps of exactly one hour, without interfering with the minute hand. There is a 72-hour power reserve at full wind, and it's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. The 16.7mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding Panerai caliber 9000 movement is rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 28 jewels, two barrels, and 197 components. It includes an Incabloc® anti-shock device, a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic Glucydur® balance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. There is a single piece rotor that winds in both directions via an automatic ratchet device, and a balance wheel with adjusting screws that oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). This Panerai Luminor 1950, reference PAM00523, was produced in a limited edition of 2000 examples. It's the first watch from Officine Panerai with a combination of the 42mm Luminor 1950 case with a white dial.
