More about Chronometre Optimum Ruthenium *SPECIAL DIAL*

This is a .950 platinum F.P. Journe Chronometre Optimum TOKYO. It's a unique watch and it includes an alligator leather strap with a platinum tang buckle and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has a pull-out winding crown with a diagonally fluted center grip and there is an exhibition sapphire display crystal case back secured with 6 screws and it's engraved with "FP. JOURNE – INV.FECIT PT950 – CHRONOMETRE – OPTIMUM," and a serial number. The 40mm diameter solid round two-body case, curved lugs, and convex bezel, are polished. It has a ruthenium grey dial with gold letters, 18K rose gold Alpha hour and minute hands, and an off center white gold "gasket" secured by 6 screws that has a large white combination dial on the right with a guilloche center and an outer reserve of black Arabic numeral hour markers surrounded by a black railway-style minute scale with tiny square hour indices. It is in turn surrounded by an outer black chapter ring with Arabic numerals every five-minutes to 60. On the left is a smaller white constant running seconds register with black Arabic numerals, markers, and an 18K rose gold indicator hand with a ring counterbalance. It has a tourbillon aperture at 11 o'clock that exhibits the escapement and there is an arched power reserve dial at 7:30 with gold Arabic numerals, a red warning sector, and an 18K rose gold indicator hand. It includes a 70-hour power reserve at full winding, it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 9.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This F.P. Journe Chronometre Optimum TOKYO has a mechanical manual winding FP Journe caliber 1510 that's made of solid 18K rose gold with Cotes de Geneve embellishment. It's constructed with 44 jewels, 240 components, and it has an EBHP direct impulse biaxial escapement that utilizes 2 wheels without requiring any oil or lubricants (patent EP11405210.3). It has a double barrel with two springs, a shock absorber device, and a constant force remontoir made of Titanium (patent EP1528443.A1). The remontoir d'egalite system stores and releases energy in precise 1-second intervals. It has a monometallic balance with a spiral with a Phillips curve for enhanced equilibrium that's adjusted for isochronism and 6 positions. Visible through the sapphire back is a platinum dead-beat second indicator circle with black Arabic numerals and a blued indicator hand with a ring counterbalance that's screwed onto one of the bridges and connected to the remontoir. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). This F.P. Journe Chronometre Optimum TOKYO was introduced in 2017. It was created to resemble the F.P. Journe Tokyo Anniversaire collection; the Tokyo boutique included a Tourbillon Souverain, an Octa Perpetuelle and a Centigraphe made for the Anniversarie but not an Optimum. This unique Optimum was commissioned to resemble the Tokyo series.
