More about Pilot WorldTimer SS Black Dial

This is a stainless steel IWC Pilot World Timer, IW326201. The polished two-body case has curved lugs and an alligator strap with a matching stainless steel deployant buckle. The black dial has luminous white Arabic numeral hour markers and hands, including a seconds hand with central hacking seconds, a screw-down crown, and a 24-hour world timer function. The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating on both sides, and it's secured against displacement by drops in air pressure. The date is at 3 o'clock with a red arrow indicator. It has a 42-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 60 meters. The outer ring has 23 place names representing 23 different time zones, plus the local zone on the dial. The automatic IWC movement is rhodium plated with fausse cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 31 jewels and a soft iron inner case for protection against anti-magnetic fields. IWC has been making the finest pilot's watches since 1936. This watch can be adjusted ahead or back in one-hour steps to show the new local time, even when crossing the International Date Line. The date simply advances along with the jumping hour hand. Once the time is set using the crown, the black-and-white rotating 24-hour ring easily exhibits the time in all 24 zones, including UTC (Universal Time Coordinated); it remains unaffected if the local time is changed on the dial, while the movement keeps running during the change. The triple date display is reminiscent of the altimeter in an aircraft's cockpit.
