More about Museum Collection Re-Edition 1951 Cosmic Watch Rose Gold

This is an 18k rose gold Omega Museum Collection 1951 Cosmic 5701.80.03. It includes an alligator leather strap with an 18K rose gold tang buckle and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a signed pull out winding crown and two correctors on each case band for the perpetual calendar. There is a solid case back secured with 4 screws engraved with "OMEGA - THE OMEGA MUSEUM COLLECTION – COSMIC – 1951 – COLLECTOR'S SERIES NUMBER TWO," and serial numbers. The 33mm square solid two-body case, pyramidal screwed lug bars, and stepped convex curved bezel, are polished/brushed. The dial is black with applied rose gold dart and rectangular-shaped hour markers surrounded by a gold perimeter radial date chapter ring. It includes gold Dauphine sword hour and minute hands and a gold center sweep indicator for the date. There are twin aperture windows underneath the Omega emblem at 12 o'clock for the day and the month, and a recessed moon phase subsidiary dial with gold markers and an indicator hand is at the 6 o'clock position. This Omega Museum Collection 1951 Cosmic 5701.80.00 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Omega Omega caliber 2601 (based on the Piguet caliber 6763-4) movement. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment and it's constructed with 31 jewels, a shock absorber system, a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The Omega Museum Collection 1951 Cosmic 5701.80.00 was introduced in 2002 in a limited series of 1951 examples - is the remake of the historic Cosmic square case with complete calendar that was launched in 1951.
