More about Chronograph 5170G-010 18K White Gold Black Dial

This is an 18K white gold Patek Philippe Calatrava Chronograph, 5170G-010. It has a leather strap with a matching 18K white gold deployant clasp, and rectangular push buttons for the chronograph/stop watch. It has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and a sapphire screwed-down display case back. The 39mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and fixed sloped bezel are polished and brushed. The dial is black with white gold leaf hands, applied white gold Arabic numeral hour markers, and a 60-minute/1/5 second outer track on the outermost ring. It includes a 30-minute subsidiary dial at the 3 o'clock position, and a 60-minute sub dial at 9 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and it has a 65-hour power reserve at full wind with the chronograph disengaged. The 8.5 mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manually wound caliber 29-535 PS movement is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishments. It is stamped with the Patek Philippe seal. It's constructed with 33 jewels, 269 components, and a shock absorber mechanism. There is a straight-line lever escapement, a patented Patek Gyromax balance that's adjusted for cold, heat, isochronism, and five positions. The mechanism oscillates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Although this was introduced at the Basel watch exposition in 2013, Patek Philippe has been producing the finest chronographs in the world since 1927, making their own parts and movements. In 1923 Patek debuted the first split-seconds chronograph wristwatch, with a case design that was a precursor to the Calatrava line.
