There is an arched cartouche displaying the brand’s signature at 12 o'clock. There are printed black Roman numeral hour markers around a perimeter black minute scale with dot hour indices. It includes heat-blued steel observatory hands, with a diamond-polished yellow gold eye lens on the hour hand, and the canons riveted on the hands are also in gold. A trapezoidal date aperture window is at the 6 o’clock position. It has a 48-hour power reserve at full winding, it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 5.20mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Urban Jurgënsen Big8 R840SSL001 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Frederic Piguet caliber FP1160 80633 movement. It's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and anglages on the bridges. It's constructed with 31 jewels, a shock absorber device, twin barrels mounted in series, and a monometallic balance that' adjusted to 5 positions. It includes a 21k gold rotor with an engine turned guilloche pattern and the Urban Jurgensen crest. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Urban Jurgënsen Big8 R840SSL001 was introduced at BaselWorld in 2017. It's a large version of Urban Jürgensen’s 37 mm Reference 8, with a 40mm case.
