More about Tourbillon SS Automatic Limited Edition Desert Storm

This is a stainless steel Blancpain Leman Tourbillon, "Desert Storm" 2125M-1130-71. It has an integral stainless steel bracelet with a double deployant clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a screw-down exhibition sapphire case back. The 38mm diameter case, stepped rounded undercut bezel, and link bracelet are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminescent military-style Arabic numeral hour markers, sword-shaped feuille steel hands with luminescent inserts, and an outer minute track with Arabic numeral index markers every five minutes. The aperture for the visible tourbillon cage with in-line escapement is at the 12 o'clock position, and the 192-hour (8-day) power reserve arched indicator is at 6 o'clock. There is a subsidiary date dial at three o'clock, and it's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. The 11mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic self-winding Blancpain caliber 25 movement is rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 adjustments, and a shock-absorber mechanism. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, and an 18k gold engraved rotor. This watch commemorates Operation Desert Storm, and was produced in an extremely limited edition of only 18 examples.
