About European Watch Co.
In 1993, passionate watch hobbyist Albert Ganjei founded European Watch Company. Having been a computer scientist and engineer by trade, Albert turned his hobby into a career, opening his business and offering a small selection of Swiss made watches. Over time, while emphasizing first-rate service and competitive pricing, his company grew, and clients were eager to recommend European Watch Company to their friends all over the world.
Today we are one of the finest full-service watch retailers in the United States. We purchase, sell, and trade only the best from our large inventory of new, pre-owned, vintage, and contemporary watches. We do not follow fashion trends and we avoid overpriced "hype market" watches; we always stay with the classics from the most prestigious watch manufacturers and we do not buy or sell watches we don't like.
While browsing through our website you will find that the majority of our watches are pre-owned. In our Newbury Street showroom we have a full restoration and repair department that meticulously tests, services, and if needed, restores our timepieces. Our inventory comes from a variety of sources; some are from individuals who sell outright, while the majority comes from both our first-time and repeat clients who trade their watches towards something new. We always welcome trade-ins of your pre-owned watches; we are known for offering the highest trade-in values.
We take great pride in providing you the ultimate online browsing experience by having an easily accessible and maneuverable website that's updated many times daily. All watches on our site are in stock and ready to be shipped to you overnight. The pictures on our website are taken with love and passion, focusing on the intricacies of each individual timepiece. Unlike other online retailers, every watch pictured is the exact watch we have in stock; we never use stock or reused photographs.
Over the past 20 years, we have helped thousands of friends find their perfect timepiece. We are truly honored to serve such a clientele and look forward to helping more friends discover their passion for horology.

As with some of our current customers, my passion for watches and mechanical objects started when I was a teenager. I have studied and worked as a Civil Engineer and an analyst in CAD/CAM through the mid 90's. My first trip to Geneva was to promote software for the design and manufacturing of watch movements. Since then, I have attended the Basel Watch Fair seventeen times. In 1993, while still in the corporate world, I started European Watch Company (EWC) as a hobby. Slowly, the demand for higher end watches increased to the level where I had to leave my job and work full time at EWC, taking time off to attend Harvard Business School between 2002 and 2005. My philosophy at EWC is that we do not have customers - we have only friends, and I am honored to have many friends all over the world.
My wife Caroline and I are blessed with three children. Our oldest, Joshua is working with me at EWC trying to teach me how to run a business! Our other children are both in college.

I'm originally a native of Hong Kong, where I learned a strong appreciation for fine watches; my father gave me a vintage Omega when I was ten years old, and I purchased my first watch when I was fifteen - a Universal Geneve tank with a black, Roman numeral dial. I've had the passion for collecting ever since; I own everything from simple time/date watches, to GMT's, and an assortment of complications.
I graduated from Northeastern University with a business major, and prior to joining European Watch Company, I was a paralegal in a Boston law firm where I infected everyone with my love of great timepieces. I was a client of European Watch Company for ten years before I came to work here.E-Mail Tony

I grew up in Germany and came to Boston with my parents in 1998. I finished high school in Milton, MA, and graduated from Suffolk University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Law. Since then I have been working at European Watch Company as part of Albertâs sales team. I receive many emails every day and have my own devoted clients. I manage our auction accounts and social media. In addition, I am the photographer for the watches on our website, where I get to exercise my artistic passion. All the watches have a personality, and I give them each a precision portraiture. I am also fluent in Serbo-Croatian and German. Boston is still home, where I spend my free time with my family.E-Mail Ivana

I was born and raised here in Boston, and European Watch Company was originally my childhood playground. At times I misbehaved, but mostly I attempted to be helpful, a goal that certainly became more attainable as I grew older. I began working at EWC part time while I attended the Boston University School of Management, with no intention of continuing in the watch business after college. Upon graduation, eager to start my own venture, I began brainstorming ideas for a new business, and pitched a few of them to potential investors. Although I did receive lots of positive feedback, eventually I decided it wasn't the lifestyle I desired; I wanted to find a career where I would be thrilled to go to work every day. Shortly after my realization, my Dad approached me to help at European Watch Company. Of course I accepted, and began working full time, unaware of the "dangers" of being surrounded by the breadth of our timepieces. Over the years I became officially addicted! Currently, I am part of the sales team here at EWC, and I enjoy every minute of it! Helping friends with their own passion for horology to find their next timepiece is truly a unique and rewarding experience.E-Mail Joshua

My journey to Boston took quite a long time; after spending my first 22 years in Upstate NY -- the last four of which at RPI -- I moved to Germany as a commissioned Air Force officer. After two years of working and traveling Europe, I wanted to get back to the Northeast. I chose the closest base to home: Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA.
I finished up my four year commitment to the military in the Boston area, and my transition to the civilian world coincided with a growing passion for mechanical watches. While I canât fully explain my lust for more knowledge of vintage and modern watches, I can say it was strong enough to make me give up a promising consulting career to pursue my passion.
We all wear many hats here at EWC, but my days consist primarily around our vintage selection. I acquire, test, photograph, and otherwise prepare vintage watches for the website and showcase, in hopes I can also find a new wrist for them to call home. And when not obsessed with watches, I spend my time with my wife and dog at our home in Brighton.E-Mail Shane

I was born and raised in sunny Sarasota, Florida, moving to Boston in 2007 to attend the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University. I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a concentration in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design. After graduation I helped set up a collaborative, multi-media studio in The Distillery Building in South Boston. In 2012 I began working at European Watch Company, specializing in professional restoration. My expertise is applied to the renovation and servicing of a multitude of fine watches; it is always my goal to return each timepiece to its factory finish while preserving the integrity of the design.E-Mail Victoria

I grew up in southern New Jersey and received my Bachelorâs in Music from The University of The Arts in Philadelphia. I moved to Boston in 2006 to earn my Masterâs in Music from Boston University. As a professional trumpet player I began to truly appreciate the marriage of form and function found in my instruments. This naturally lead to an appreciation of fine watches since they share this quality. I started working at EWC in 2016 and enjoy working in the sales department and helping people find the watch that meets both their needs, and their personality. I have found watches similar to music in that they are a vehicle for self expression. I also manage the repairs. Learning about the intricacies of the many different movements has only increased my admiration for fine watches and watchmaking. I live on Boston's South Shore and have just completed my first solo cd of original music.E-Mail Robert

My career in the luxury goods industry began in 1988 as a Northeastern University Co-op, repairing fashion watches for a Boston jeweler. With instruction from local watchmakers and by studying Le Manuel Suisse de I'horloger-rehabilleur, I started a home-based watch repair business in the mid 1990s. Eventually I began to design and fabricate watchcases and dials.
In 1997, I was recruited to work as Service Manager for Boston's then most luxurious watch retailer. In 2006 I joined European Watch Company, performing restorations and repairs. My responsibilities evolved along with EWC, and I began performing movement maintenance on many of the brands carried by the company. I am a lifelong Bostonian and currently live in the city with my wife and two sons.E-Mail Dan

Growing up in Central Connecticut, I always had a camera in my hands. Eventually I purchased my first DSLR and quickly realized that photography was my greatest passion. Soon after developing my style and skills, I took a risky yet rewarding step and moved to Boston in 2013 to pursue a career in photography.
I freelanced for a year before I became part of the EWC family. Itâs truly a pleasure working with these beautiful timepieces. It is my goal to display their beauty and details through the photographs displayed.
In my spare time, I look forward to exploring more of Boston, preferably on my bike, with my camera in hand!E-Mail Jules
