This is an 18K yellow gold Vacheron & Constantin Retrograde Jump Hour "Saltarello", 43041/000J-8673. It has a leather strap with a matching 18K yellow gold Vacheron tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 36mm by 36mm cushion-shaped solid two-body case, stepped bezel, and stepped downturned lugs are polished. The sapphire crystal display case back is secured with 4 screws, exhibiting the highly embellished movement. The dial is silver with hand-done sunburst guilloche texture and a gold alpha retrograde hand indicating the applied gold Arabic numeral minute index and diamond markers on the curved retrograde graduation from 9 o'clock to 3. A yellow gold framed trapezoidal aperture for the jump hour is at the 12 o'clock position. It's water resistant and the 8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic self-winding Vacheron & Constantin caliber 1120/2 movement is rhodium plated with, stamped with fausses côtes embellishment and the Seal of Geneva quality mark. It's constructed with 38 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. There is a monometallic balance that’s adjusted for heat, cold, and 5 positions, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a skeletonized hand-engraved rotor with a 21K gold segment. This watch debuted in 1998 in a limited edition of 200 examples.
