This is a vintage c. 1950's stainless steel Heuer Pre-Carrera 2447. It has a shell cordovan strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. It has a solid screw-down case back with Heuer stamp, hallmarks, and a serial number, round chronograph pushbuttons, and a push/pull winding crown. The 37.5mm solid three-body case, angled straight lugs, and angled bezel are polished/brushed. The original dial is silver with gold luminous Arabic numeral hour makers, gold pips, and luminous triangle indices on a perimeter minute/one-fifth seconds scale. It has the original baton hands with luminous inserts, and a central sweep seconds hand. There are three recessed guilloche subsidiary dials, including a running seconds dial at 9 o'clock, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute register is at 3 o'clock. The 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Heuer Pre-Carrera 2447 has a mechanical manual winding Valjoux caliber 72 movement that's rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring.
