This is a vintage c. 1962 stainless steel Omega RCAF HA-60-166 Monopusher Chronograph, 6W/16. It has a cordovan leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle. The single pusher at 2 o'clock starts, stops and resets the sweep seconds hand and the 30 minute totalizer. There is a screw-down solid case back engraved with RCAF, the contract number HA-60-166, and the reference 6W/16. The 38mm diameter solid two-body case, downturned lugs, and angled bezel are polished/brushed. The original dial is white with applied Tritium dot hour markers, luminous Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock, a black minute/seconds track around the perimeter, and center sweep chronograph hand. There is a constant small seconds subsidiary dial at 9 o'clock, and a 30-minute totalizer is at 3 o'clock. The 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding Lemania caliber 2221 movement is rhodium plated. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. It has a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting. This rare Omega RCAF HA-60-166 Monopusher Chronograph, reference 6W/16, was issued to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) in the early 1960s, and was later utilized by the Royal Navy as well.
