More about Vintage M95 Chronograph Borgel Case SS

This is a vintage 1940's stainless steel Movado M95 Chronograph, reference 19018. It has a leather strap with stainless steel tang buckle, and a domed Plexiglas crystal. There is a screw-down solid case back, rare screw-down sunray pushers (like those on Patek 1463), and the original waterproof and anti-magnetic Borgel-made case is in excellent shape and retains sharp facets on the lugs. It includes the original antimagnetic inner case. The 33mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and angled bezel are polished. The dial is silver with three silver recessed subsidiary dials, and an outer minute/one-fifth seconds track with Arabic numeral markers every five minutes, gold hands with luminous inserts, and a center sweep chronograph hand. There is a small constant seconds sub dial at 9 o'clock, a 12-hour chronograph dial is at 6 o'clock, and there is a 60-minute counter at 3 o'clock. The 12.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding Movado caliber M95 movement is rhodium plated. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. This Movado M95 chronograph, reference 19018, is an extremely rare watch with a fine quality in-house column wheel chronograph movement. Borgel, who also produced for Patek Philippe, Ulysse Nardin, and Vacheron Constantin, made the case.
