This is a vintage 1950's stainless steel Universal Geneve Uni-Compax, caliber 285. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. There is a snap-on polished case back, and rectangular chronograph pushbuttons. The 35mm diameter solic three-body case, downturned curved lugs, and angled bezel are polished. The original silver dial has black painted Breguet Arabic numerals hour markers around a railway-style 60-minute scale with Arabic numerals every five-minutes . There is a Tachymeter to 1000 UPH with blue numerals around the perimeter, inside of which is a red Telemetric scale. It has black baton hands and a center sweep chronograph hand. There is a constant seconds subsidiary dial at 9 o'clock, and a 45-minute chronograph dial at 3 o'clock. The 12.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding Universal Geneve caliber 285 movement is rhodium-plated. It has a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance, a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator.
