This is a vintage c. 1970's stainless steel Heuer Autavia "Jo Siffert" 1163MH. It has a stainless steel Heuer "Beads of Rice" Gay Freres bracelet, with a double deployant clasp, and a domed acrylic crystal. There is a screw-down brushed solid case back, inside of which is "Heuer Leonidas SA – Swiss – Stainless Steel." The winding crown is at 9 o'clock, and there are two "Head-on" round chronograph pushbuttons with the bezel cut away so they can be viewed. The bi-directional revolving black bezel has a 60 minute/12 hr scale. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, hooded lugs, and bracelet are polished/brushed. The original MK 6 dial is white with steel baton hands with luminous inserts, and a distinctive blue chronograph center sweep second hand. It has applied faceted steel baton, luminous yellow dot and blue square hour markers, around a perimeter minute/one-fifth second track. There is a date aperture window at 6 o'clock, and there are two black subsidiary dials with white hands, including a 12-hour totalizer at 9 o'clock, and a 30-minute register is at 3 o'clock. The 15mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding Heuer/Valjoux caliber 12 movement is rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. This Heuer Autavia "Jo Siffert" 1163T was introduced in 1969, and it was produced until 1972. It honors pilot and formula racer Jo Siffert, who died in a racing accident in 1971, and who was the first Formula One driver to have a watch sponsorship.
