More about Vintage Calatrava Breguet Numerals 18K Yellow Gold

This is a vintage c. 1949 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe Calatrava, 2453. It has a leather strap with an 18K yellow gold tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. The 33mm diameter stepped bezel, massive downturned fluted teardrop-shaped lugs, and snap-on case back appear to never have been polished, and have a beautiful overall tarnish. The silver dial is original, with applied 18K gold Breguet Arabic numeral hour markers, and original gold leaf-shaped hands. It has an outer raised silver dot minute track, and the Patek Philippe signature is intact and untouched. It includes the original winding crown and there is a subsidiary constant seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The hallmarks are large and pronounced, and the 7.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manual winding Patek Philippe caliber 10-200 movement is rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance. It includes a self-compensating Breguet balance spring and a micrometer regulator.
