This is a stainless steel IWC Mark XVIII Pilot's Watch IW324002. It has an integral stainless steel IWC Jubilee-style bracelet with a triple folding deployment clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, secured against displacement by drops in air pressure. It has a soft-iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields, and a screw-down winding crown. There is a screw-down solid case back engraved around the perimeter with "INTERNATIONAL WATCH CO. – PILOT'S WATCH – 6 BAR," and with a high-relief Junkers 55 airplane emblem in the center. The 36mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, bracelet, and angled cupped bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminous "Spitfire" epee hands, a central sweep seconds hand, luminous Arabic military-style hour numerals and square indices with a triangle at 12 o'clock, around a perimeter minute/seconds track around a recessed reserve. There is a date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position. It has a 42-hour power reserve at full wind, and it's water resistant to 60 meters/200 feet. The 10.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This IWC Mark XVIII Pilot's Watch IW324002 has a mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber C 30110 (base Sellita) movement. It's rhodium-plated and it's constructed with 25 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance adjusted for heat, cold, and 5 positions. It has a shock absorber, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a central hacking seconds function for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). This IWC Mark XVIII Pilot's Watch IW324002 was originally launched in 2017; its 40mm big brother was introduced in 2016 at the SIHH exhibition when IWC was celebrating the 80th anniversary of its first Pilot's Watch that debuted in 1936.
