This is a vintage c. 1960 stainless steel Omega Speedmaster Pre-Moon Pre-Professional, Second Generation, 2998-2. It has the original integral stainless steel expandable bracelet (Ref. 7077) with a deployant clasp, and a hesalite crystal. The solid screw-down case back includes a dust cover and the engraved Speedmaster logo. The 39mm diameter solid thee-body case, bracelet, round chronograph pushbuttons, straight lugs, and winding crown are polished/brushed. It has the original black dial, applied luminous baton hour markers, a black "base 1000" bezel with white tachymeter graduations, luminous steel alpha hands, and a luminous central white baton chronograph hand. It includes an outer track with minute/seconds and 1/5th seconds divisions, and the Omega logo at 12 o'clock. There is a constant small seconds subsidiary dial at the 9 o'clock position, a 30-minute sub dial at 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour dial at 6 o'clock. The 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding Omega caliber 321 movement is, copper-colored, with a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, and an index regulator.
