More about 5107 WG

This is an 18K white gold Patek Philippe Calatrava 5107 G. The polished, inclined bezel is gently curved; the dial is white opaline with white gold applied faceted baton index hour markers, outer dot minute/seconds indicators, and dauphine hands. It has a centered sweeps seconds hand, and the date window is at 3 o'clock. The alligator leather strap has a matching 18K white gold buckle. It's water resistant to 25 meters, with a sapphire crystal display case back and 6 screws, as well as a screw-down crown. The solid three-body case is polished with concave lugs The automatic Patek Calibre 315 movement is rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes decoration, and stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark. It's constructed with 30 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring. It includes the patented Patek Philippe Gyromax balance that adjusts for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. It has a 21K gold rotor and the case, dial, and movement are all signed. In 1932, Patek Philippe debuted the first model of their new, signature line, which they named Calatrava. These elegant watches were the hybrid of an avant-garde aesthetic with a touch of Bauhaus simplicity. The circular cases had an unmistakable style; they were described as timeless, and are one of the world's most copied watches. The Stern brothers, who had just purchased the company, chose the name Calatrava from the legend of a Spanish religious order that defended the Calatrava Citadel against the invasion of the Moors in the Middle Ages.
