More about Da Vinci QP YG

This is 18K yellow gold IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, 3750-03. It has an alligator strap with a matching yellow gold Da Vinci tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. It has a screwed down winding crown. The 39mm diameter solid two-body case, rounded stepped bezel, hooded mobile lugs, and snap on case back are polished and brushed. The dial is white with applied gold faceted baton hour index markers, luminous gold baton hands, an outer minute/second track, and a central sweep second hand. The chronograph has round pushbuttons at 2 and 4 o'clock, and a four-digit date between 7 and 8 o'clock that's functional until the year 2499. There are four subsidiary dials, including a day and seconds register at 9 o'clock, a moon phase aperture at 12 o'clock, a month and 12-hour dial at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute register at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 15mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic winding IWC caliber 79061 movement is gilt brass. It's constructed with 36 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to five positions, a self- compensating flat balance spring, a micrometer regulator, and a hack mechanism. The case, dial, and movement are all signed. IWC debuted the round case design Portuguese watches in 1939 to honor Portugal’s important seafaring explorers such as Vasco da Gama, Ferdinand Magellan, and Bartolomeu Dias. In 2003, they unveiled the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar with its distinctive hemispherical moon phase display.
