This is an 18K white gold Blancpain Ultra-Thin Villeret Big Date 6850-1542-55. It has an alligator leather strap with a matching 18K white gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a signed pull out winding crown and a solid snap down case back engraved with "BLANCPAIN," and with hallmarks underneath the lugs. The 38mm diameter solid two-body case, straight scalloped lugs, and stepped convex bezel, are polished. The two-tiered dial is silver with applied white gold Roman numerals surrounded by a black perimeter minute/second scale, white gold feuille leaf minute and hour hands, and there is a white gold center sweep second hand with an oval counterbalance. The Big date aperture is at 6 o'clock and there is a power reserve of 100 hours. It's water resistant to 30 meters (30 atm/100 ft), and the 10.90mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Blancpain Villeret Ultra-This Big Date 6850-1542-55 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Blancpain caliber 6850 movement that's rhodium-plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment. It's constructed with 28 jewels, 198 components, blued screws, a straight-line lever escapement, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a shock absorber system. It includes a monometallic balance, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). The Blancpain Villeret Ultra-This Big Date 6850-1542-55 was introduced in the 2000's. The Villeret line is the company's largest collection, with over 60 variations and complications. The name refers to the Swiss town where Jean-Jacques Blancpain founded his workshop upstairs in his home in 1735.
