More about Sculpture 5091 Steel white
This is a stainless steel Patek Philippe Sculpture, 5091. It has an integral stainless steel three-strand stepped and geometrical link bracelet with a double deployant clasp. It has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and a solid screwed-down case back. The 37mm diameter solid case, rounded bezel, and stepped geometrical lugs (repeating the bracelet decoration) are polished. There is a date aperture widow at 3 o'clock, and a Russian Imperial blue enamel-set winding crown with a distinctive double lateral protective lever. The dial is white with tritium coated Arabic numeral hour markers, a center sweep second hand, and the baton hands have tritium inserts. It has an outer minute/seconds track with 5-minute/second Arabic numeral markers. It's water resistant to 30 meters/90 feet, and there is a 48-hour power reserve. The 10mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding Patek Philippe caliber 315 movement is rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's stamped with the quality mark of the Seal of Geneva. It's constructed with 30 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, a straight-line lever escapement, and the patented Gyromax balance that's adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions. It has a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring, and a shock absorber mechanism. The Sculpture models are frequently referred to as the “Russian watch”, because the Ref. 5091 was launched in 1999 to celebrate the return of Patek Philippe to Russia. There were 300 examples for each of nine versions, for a total planned run of 2700 pieces. Russia’s nobility and intellectuals were important Patek Philippe customers in the 19th century, but Patek left during the Soviet era. The design of the case is based on the classic Patek Nautilus.
