More about Luminor Submersible OOR SS/Rubber Blue Dial

This is a stainless steel Panerai Luminor Submersible, PAM00087. It has a rubber strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant, anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal with a Cyclops magnifying lens over the date aperture at 3 o'clock, and a signature Panerai winding crown with a full protective device and inscription of "1000" on the lever. The 44mm diameter solid three-body case, coin-edged bezel, and downturned lugs are brushed. It has a solid screwed-down, engraved case back, a graduated unidirectional revolving bezel with a luminous dot at 12 o'clock, and a helium release valve on the case at 9 o'clock. The "La bomba" dial is blue with luminescent gold Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock, and baton hour markers. There is a small seconds subsidiary dial at 9 o'clock, and it has a Certified Official Swiss Chronometer (COSC) certification. It's water resistant to 1000 meters, with a 42-hour power reserve. The 18mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic self-winding Panerai caliber OP III is rhodium-plated, with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment and special Panerai decoration. It's constructed with 21 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. The mechanism oscillates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), and it has a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a micrometer regulator. This D Series second-generation watch was made in a limited edition of 500 pieces, first introduced in 2002 (the first generation of 2001 had a light blue dial rather than this midnight blue).
